Emily has been creating beadwork for 10 years.

Emily is a Métis beadworker. Her family comes from the Historic Sault Ste. Marie Métis Community. Her designs celebrate cultural heritage through vibrant floral motifs and storytelling stitches. Based in Lake Charlotte, Nova Scotia, she shares her passion through workshops, custom pieces, and community collaborations

Felts

Many items are created on felt. Emily uses felts sourced from either local distributors or even better, from local producers to ensure high quality backings.

Findings

Earring findings are typically surgical steel, however can be changed to suit specific skin needs.

Clothing Items

Emily loves to create wearable art using beadwork applique on clothing.

Beads

Emily uses beads from Canadian distributors. Her work uses size 10 and 11 seed beads.

Designs

Each piece is unique and designs are created by Emily. She loves to find inspiration for her work in the natural world, as well as in vintage pieces of Métis beadwork and antique embroidery designs

Accessories

Emily loves to create useable and unique pieces of art, including wearable accessories and other handmade items. Emily’s husband is a talented sewer who helps her create small bags to showcase her beadwork.
